A rich, buttery, old-fashioned pound cake that’s so soft and flavorful, it’ll have everyone asking for seconds! Moist, dense, and golden perfection — just like Grandma used to make.

 

 

 

 

 

 


🧈 Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

 

 

 

 

 

For the Glaze (optional but recommended):

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

 

 

 

 

 

 


🍰 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan or a large loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar for 4–5 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Add the dry ingredients alternately with milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour. Mix just until smooth and creamy.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

🍯 For the Glaze:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, melted butter, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Drizzle over the cooled cake for a beautiful finish.
